The Experimental Animal Center has a 12-month post-graduation specialised internship in Laboratory Animals (with focus in anaesthesia and analgesia), starting in June 2025 or by agreement. The position remains open until filled.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in veterinary medicine recognised in Europe
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to learn basic German
- Previous ICU and/or anaesthesia experience is preferred
Head of animal facility/Attending Veterinarian

The Central Animal Facility is the largest facility of the Experimental Animal Center, University of Bern (Switzerland). Its main function is to breed and house small rodents and rabbits and to provide the infrastructure for conducting animal experiments as part of the biomedical research program of the University of Bern. The 3Rs (Reduce, Refine, Replace), the “Culture of Care” and compliance with guidelines and regulations are cornerstones of the EAC strategy.
Requirements
- ECLAM or ACLAM specialist, or board eligibility
- Practical experience with geneticially modified mouse colony management; zebrafish experience is a plus
- Proven management experience and leadership in complex structures
- English-speaking; German is an advantage.
Operations and Facilities Director, Comparative Medicine Unit
Trinity College Dublin
Provide operational leadership and direction of the day-to-day and strategic operations of the unit. The postholder will work with the Academic Director to operationalise staff and research needs, and to assess the feasibility of research opportunities from a logistical, people and resource standpoint whilst adhering to animal welfare and regulatory legislation.
Requirements
- Veterinary medical degree registrable with Veterinary Council of Ireland
- ECLAM or ACLAM diploma is desirable
- Minimum 5 years experience in lab animal facility management
